It's probably a good thing, really, that Martin's fever decided to show itself in the last hour or so before they landed at home. A couple of hours later, and he would have been on his way home alone before he started feeling it.
At least, that's Douglas' opinion, when he loads Martin into his car after the flight. It's not a 'take patient straight to the hospital, do not pass Go, do not collect 100 dollars' level fever, but it is a 'should not be alone and should probably be kept an eye on in case hospitals become necessary' one, and he sincerely doubts Martin would have called anybody to keep an eye on him had he discovered that when he got home.
Hence why he's being brought to Douglas' home instead, so that said looking after can happen, and happen in relative comfort -- for both of them.
